Apps and games

TTRockStars is a great site focusing on times tables.  It is extremely motivating for students with progression through stages and earning rewards to buy things from the virtual shop for your avatar.  You can challenge yourself or other players.  You have to pay for an annual subscription.  When last checked it was £7.20 for the year.

Sumdog is a great site.  It has both maths and literacy games.  The maths games are based around the National Curriculum key targets and progress with the children as they get better.  There is a free subscription but you can also upgrade.  Highly recommended.  Children who struggle with maths love these games and their ability level is disguised so there is no stigma to playing.

Komodo is not an app that I know but i have used some of the maths resources as a teacher.  I like the site and the illustrations.  There is a free subscription which can be upgraded.

This is a free app.  It has great reviews and is on many of the top app sites.
